I’m SO excited! I finally have an index in my book The Antianxiety Food Solution! The index is the first place I go to when I buy a book so this means a lot to me and I know it’s going to be a big help to you, my reader!
It’s crazy that it wasn’t in there in the first place (my publisher said it wasn’t in the budget) so I just kept asking and we finally added one in this latest printing.
It’s my birthday today and what a great birthday present for me! I also get to give you something on my birthday – a PDF copy of the index if you already have my book. You can download a copy of the index here.
If you don’t yet have a copy of my book (or would like to buy another one with an index) you can do so on Amazon here or via my website (this will be a signed copy).
If you do already have a copy of my book and have gotten value from it I would love to ask you a favor. Will you please write a review on Amazon? I’d so appreciate it.
Here is the very first review I received:
Dealing with Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Insomnia? This book is for you!
I cried my way thru this book ~ out of JOY~ for finally finding a very helpful book! I have been on a journey for 10 years trying to navigate issues with depression, stress, anxiety, insomnia and other fun things. I’ve been to doctors, psychologists and counselors. I’ve been put on medication which after many years of that left me suicidal, overweight, depressed and very angry. It is VERY frustrating trying to navigate doctors, testing and information out there that could help you. This summer I read several books that addressed depression from a dietary and nutrition standpoint. This one was the best in my opinion. It’s not too long, easy to read and understand, and well organized. And it agreed with several things I had read in other books ~ such as the use of amino acids, vitamins and issues with gluten and sugar to address depression, etc. There’s many good ‘life stories’ in it too which help you relate. Thanks Trudy Scott!
And here is one of the recent Amazon reviews (I edited out the Dr. Trudy Scott part!):
This book changed my life. I heard Trudy Scott during an interview on the Underground Wellness with Sean Croxton, and her revelations about the connection between what we ingest and how our minds work was riveting. I bought the book immediately, and it was the best $15 I ever spent. Not only have I been able to stop taking an antidepressant and sleep medication, but I now have hope I can truly balance my own biochemistry. It is really a shame most doctors do not study nutrition, for if they did I suspect we would have a much healthier population. Thank goodness Trudy has been successful in her research and her ability to disseminate her findings. If you have any issues with anxiety, depression or insomnia, I highly recommend you read this book.
You can watch a snippet of my Sean Croxton interview here – it was a great interview as was the entire Depression Sessions series of interviews.
I hope you find the index helpful! And I would love to hear back from you on how my book has helped you – either here in the comments or via an Amazon review. Feel free to post your questions too.

Happy Birthday Trudy! I was just looking in your book for L-Glutamine dosing and timing, when you sent this wonderful index. Congratulations and Thank You!
May you be more and more recognized and appreciated in the year to come, and, more importantly, may your wonderful work help more and more people like me to wean from or lessen the dependence on medications and their incredibly miserable side effects.
I feel as if you have given me back my life!
In great gratitude,
Blessing

Happy Birthday Trudy,
I was reading about your trip to Greece and how wonderful it was. My mother was born in Greece. I was born in Bulgaria next door country.
I have been eating this diet all my life.
Thank you for introducing me the Amino Acids. I have using been Lysine for Herpes and Gabba for my anxiety. I have been noticing some improvement especially with the aces and pains. Also the anxiety is less.
I purchased your book I can’t wait to get it.
I had to extract a tooth and the dentist prescribed antibiotics I said no. They told me it takes about 2 months to heal. I still have pain on the gum. The dentist insisted that I should take what she prescribed but I don’t want to take. I am the stubborn but I don’t care. I hope the gum will heal eventually.
What do you say?
Enjoy your birthday.

Thanks for the birthday wishes and lovely to hear from someone born in Bulgaria. I’d love to hear what your diet was like growing up there.
Glad to hear about your anxiety being less – you’ll get even more information from the book.
For healing of any wounds I like additional zinc and vitamin C and plenty of good quality protein. Berberine is a great natural antibiotic.

Hi Trudy!
I’ve been following your page for awhile and love all the information. Thank you for all that you do!
I was thinking about buying your book. I’ve been living with anxiety, social anxiety, mood swings and depression for years and ibs. Anyhow I am a vegetarian and was wondering if if your book mainly goes off a animal protein diet? Would it still be helpful to me even though I don’t consume animal protien?
Thanks for your time,
Brittany

I find that my clients with anxiety, social anxiety, mood swings and depression do better when they incorporate animal protein into their diets so my book does discuss this in great detail. My hope would be that you’d read it and be open to incorporating some animal protein. if not there is still much to be gleaned from the book and much that would likely help you on your healing journey.
I also interviewed Lierre Keith on one of the Anxiety Summits – here is a link to that interview https://www.everywomanover29.com/blog/anxiety-anxiety-depression-vegetarian-diet/ We discuss the pitfalls of the vegetarian diet at great length.

I just finished reading your book “The Antianxiety Food Solution”. I loved it. I also saw your interview on the Mental Wellness Summit put on by John Dempster and Ross McKenzie in 2015.
I wondered how you got access to your library of medical journals to do research for your book. Did you visit a university library or did you do it online? Please let me know a good and hopefully inexpensive way to do research. Thanks for your help.
I’ve been writing a book of my own called “Joyful Vibrance”. I was intrigued about your work with polyuria because it appears I have a touch of it myself. I started using 10 mg of P5P daily with an inexpensive B Complex called B-Right by Jarrow Formulas, an inexpensive zinc supplement, and evening primrose oil. This has turned my life around!
I was using SAMe, l-tryptophan, and l-tyrosine along with my prescription meds, and B-Right has considerably reduced my needs for these supplements. I’ve also found that my eyes are not as dry. (I learned that vitamin B6 is needed to absorb magnesium which is needed for eye lubrication. My eye doctor never told me that! I’ve worn myself out in the past trying to keep my eyes lubricated.) My mood and energy are fantastic. My mind is clearer and sharper. I am no longer too quiet or shy. I can talk to anyone now. I remember my dreams better. I’m using “pixie” doses of l-tyrosine, taurine, and l-tryptophan now and have cut out SAMe entirely.
I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizoaffective disorder. I have also had chronic fatigue and a yeast condition which is now fully controlled. I have been on SSDI since 1998. I feel for the first time since then that I am no longer disabled. I could relate to your story because I worked as a software engineer for about 15 years before going on disability.
Thanks for whatever help you can give me. Best wishes.

Happy birthday, Trudy! I just had mine too on the 4th. I truly appreciate all your hard work and dedication to getting the word out about depression and other problems we can fix with diet! I can’t wait to get my book.
I am still blown away by the quality of summits you put on. Keep up the good work!
